Aborda el problema de los inventarios y cuentas del patrimonio natural y cultural en lo que se refiere a una nomenclatura que podría servir de referencia para América Latina. Para esto analiza cómo evaluar los elementos patrimoniales desde los puntos de vista ecológico, cultural y económico. Luego explora la integración de la contabilidad del patrimonio natural en los sistemas nacionales de cuentas, para finalizar con algunas recomendaciones para crear un programa global de dicho patrimonio.
